Flashspoter - Meta is expanding its portfolio with Pocket, an app that relies on artificial intelligence to create small games and interactive experiences. The absence of an official announcement does not preclude the fact that this application has been available on Apple and Google distribution platforms since June 29, 2026. Pocket's existence was revealed after developer and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi shared screenshots of the app on platform X.
Pocket is the result of Meta's adoption of the team behind the acquired gizmo platform earlier this year, a startup that developed similar apps to create AI-based interactive experiences. In the app's description on Google Play, Pocket refers to itself as a "creative platform for creating and sharing gizmos," which is a term for interactive experiences generated by AI. A short code in the Play Store that says "com.facebook.gizmo " further cemented the relationship between Pocket and Meta-acquired Gizmo.
The app presents a "vibe-coding" approach that allows users without programming skills to create games by simply describing them in natural language. For example, the user can type a command to turn a flower into a digital brush on the touch screen, or create a racing game with a specific background music. Pocket'S AI will translate those descriptions into interactive experiences that respond to touch, phone movement, sound effects, and camera access.
Pocket not only provides tools for creating, but also brings a social element through a scrollable feed to discover and play gizmo made by other users. Each published gizmo can be remixed by other users, allowing collaboration and development of creativity based on existing works. The feature reflects Meta's strategy to make AI a creation tool that integrates with social interactions, similar to TikTok or Instagram's approach to video content.
Data from Appfigures shows that Gizmo, Pocket's predecessor, has been downloaded 635,000 times over its lifetime with a 98 percent positive sentiment rate. Meta's acquisition of the Gizmo team demonstrates the company's commitment to expanding generative AI creation tools to a wider audience. Pocket joins Meta'S portfolio of other AI apps such as Meta AI for images and Vibes for videos, as well as AI features that have been integrated into their various social platforms.
At the moment, Pocket is still in its early testing phase and is not yet available globally. The Meta help page states that the Pocket app is not yet available everywhere and some features may not yet be available in certain regions. Based on reports, the app is currently only available in Brazil and cannot be downloaded in the United States on some tested phone models. Despite being publicly listed, Meta has yet to announce an official launch schedule or which regions will get full access.
Pocket comes amid a growing trend of game-based social apps, with competitors such as Sekai recently raising $ 20 million in Series A funding. As conventional content on social timelines begins to lose its appeal, this kind of approach is expected to re-inject user enthusiasm. With Pocket, Meta is not only introducing new AI creation tools, but also experimenting with more participatory and game-based social interaction formats, opening up new possibilities for the social media and gaming industries.
